The United States Department
of Agriculture (also called the Agriculture Department, or USDA) is
a United States Federal Executive Department (or Cabinet Department).
Its purpose is to develop and execute policy on farming, agriculture,
and food. It aims to meet the needs of farmers and ranchers, promote
agricultural trade and production, work to assure food safety, protect
natural resources, foster rural communities and end hunger, in America
and abroad. |
Safe and suitable
food is NZFSA's priority. Ensuring a safe and suitable food supply
is a public health priority for any country. In New Zealand nearly
80% of the food we produce is exported, providing just over half
the country’s export earnings and underpinning our economy.
Our selection of fresh venison, beef, lamb, fish and
chicken is collected from NZFSA licensed establishments daily and
is processed within hours. Our factory is licensed by NZFSA, whose
officer’s frequent visits ensure all preparation, pasteurized,
processing, packing and procedures meet their exacting requirements.
